Background/About:
Daoko is a highschool female rapper who debuted at the age of 16 in 2013 with the EP Ututu. Up until her major single release (ShibuyaK) in 2015, she had concealed her face because working in the entertainment industry was forbidden at her school. Daoko began her musical pursuits on the popular Japanese video sharing website NicoNicoDouga. Daoko was her screen-name on the website and has no relation to her real name, which has not been disclosed to the public.

Daoko was the vocalist for the international sensation ME!ME!ME! video, as well as it's successor; GIRL. She collaborated with Teddyloid (a popular Japanese electronic beat producer) for both songs.

Ringo's Thoughts:
Daoko is an exceedingly unique artist. Along with being a highschooler and having debuted at the tender age of just 16, her rapping style is incredibly unique. Her songs can easily be described as 'dreamy-pop' as her whisper-like voice and equally soothing singing soothes you alongside mellow and catchy beats. Did I also mention she's a sweetheart? Ugh she's perfect and I love her music...I have all her releases in my library. If you managed to get past the visuals of ME!ME!ME! or GIRL and listened to the actual song and liked it, I encourage you to follow this young woman.

PS.
Daoko's discography is available on the US iTunes and she has an instagram here.
