Single Review: WAKE ME UP!
Posted on Monday, March 7, 2016 @ 10:13 AM | 0 comment(s)

Background:
8th single of anisong singer Sawai Miku. Used as the theme song for the 2016 Sugoi Japan event. Released March 2nd.

Ringo's Thoughts:
As expected from a singer who's big break was through singing anime themes, this single (though not used as one) might as well be another anisong. It's very poppy and happy sounding and Sawai's thin and energetic voice is highlighted by the PV's overall atmosphere, which consists of colors and more colors upon a white background like paint splashes on a blank canvas. I wasn't really sold on her Akame ga Kill single and up until now the only release I've had of hers has been her 2015 album. But I quite like  WAKE ME UP! so I'm considering keeping an eye on her after this one.
