Female J-Indie

Album Review: New Kingdom

Background:
First full album and major debut release of female rock trio the peggies. Released December 11th, 2015.

Ringo's Thoughts:
So I stumbled across the peggies channel while lurking around the indie JPOP side of Youtube. I love discovering new girl bands, and the peggies were just what I was hoping for. They don't have a 'gimmick' nor do they have a particularly unique style, but sometimes more of a standard format won't kill you, so I went with it and became a casual fan.

I'd probably become more than just casual if I could find more info on these girls, but up until this release they've been strictly indie, so finding info in English was basically impossible.

Anyway this rather pleasant, but that's about it. Much like the trio themselves, this album doesn't particularly scream individuality. The style and music is very similar to things I've heard before. But it isn't a back album, not at all. It's just....standard. In other words, they're your typical girl band, but that doesn't mean they're not good. They're music is very good, just not special.
