Happiness is a group born of students of LDH's Exile Professional Gym program, which trains kids all over Japan in dance and song. They debuted in 2009 and got their first major release in 2011. They are one of EXILE's sister groups and the original members were former EXILE backup dancers. Happiness is also part of a joint project called E-Girls, which is comprised of two other EXILE sister groups as well. Since they are a sister group to EXILE, Happiness follows the same group format and as such there are only two appointed singers while the rest of the members are only dancers. They call themselves a vocal and dance unit and are not considered idols. All their music videos are on the Avex official Youtube channel.
Members:
Kawamoto Ruri (singer)
Suda Anna (dancer)
Kaede (dancer)
SAYAKA (dancer)
YURINO (dancer)
Fuji Karen (singer)
MIYUU (dancer/leader)
Ringo's Thoughts:
Happiness is my favorite JPOP group hands down. Thanks to the E-Girls project Happiness has gained massive popularity in the past few years and now their most popular Youtube video is closing in on seven million views. They've come a long way and their style has evolved to the point where they're almost unrecognizable...but in a very good way. Happiness prides themselves on their dancing and I fully agree that they give their performances the most energy out of all the sister groups. They are an energetic group and their catchphrase/motto since debut has been to 'give their fans smiles and happiness' with each song. My personal favorites are between Yurino and Miyuu. Yurino is a girly tomboy hybrid and Miyuu is just really gay.
